Anything going on around this area?

From everything I've read it seems that Seattle basically shuts down at night, haha, and I'm hoping that's not true!

What are you even talking about? Seattle has some of the best nightlife in the country. Belltown, Cap Hill, Georgetown, Ballard, and Columbia City all have plenty of great bars and clubs.

Even near King Street Station are some nice bars in Pioneer Square.

A lot of big cities have 24 hour places or later drinking hours, and Seattle doesn't. That's what I meant- but thanks, i'll be sure to check those out!

Most cities have "last call" at around the same time as Seattle (2 a.m.) How is that unreasonable?

But in any regard, enjoy your trip!

You mean "after-hours" establishments...

Under McGinn, Seattle petitioned the Liquor Control Board to be able to extend alcohol serving times past 2 a.m., in order to be able to stagger closing times (so all the drunks wouldn't spill onto the streets at the same time), but were turned down on a 2-1 vote.

DreamGirls and Deja Vu Showgirls (SoDo) are open until 2:30 am.

There are places you can eat (but not drink) after 2am:

Hong Kong Bistro (ID)
Honey Court (ID)
Purple Dot (ID)
13 Coins (Belltown)
5 Point Cafe (Belltown)
Lola (Belltown)
Lost Lake Cafe (Capitol Hill)
Beth's Cafe (Green Lake)
Memo's (U District)
IHOP
Denny's
Shari's

Seattle actually has a good nightlife scene. A lot of bars. Capitol Hill, Belltown, Ballard, Fremont, LQA, even Pioneer Square is up and coming (but still a ways to go before it can compete with the city's other nightlife neighborhoods).

As for last call - Some of the chinese restaurants serve "cold tea" (aka beer) after 2 am. Also, there are several clubs that stay open after 2 am but they just won't serve liquor. Most of the illegal after hours spots have been shut down, but there are also several diners that are 24 hours and that will serve at 6 am.

But yeah, like most American cities, after 2 am there isn't a ton going on.
