Looking for a great place to take some out of town guests to get pizza and a beer. We are looking for thick crusted Chicago style type pizza. We have been out here for over a year and cannot find any pizza place that is good. Any help would be great!

I haven't been there yet, but friends have told me that they really like Wallingford Pizza House for Chicago-style pizza.

I've lived in alot of places, but I find that pizza joints that claim to have Chicago style pizza come close, but it never tastes as good as when I actually go home to Chicago. Most other places always have an element of "chain" taste to me.

I don't know if you'll find Chicago style pizza here, but for Seattle Style Pizza (in a cool location for tourists) try Tutta Bella in the 2200 Westlake complex or Columbia City; or Zeke's pizza near Seattle Center.

On my husbands birthday, I always order him 2 chicago pizza's from Tastes of Chicago, because we haven't been able to fit that bill here in the PNW.

Check out Northlake Pizza on North Lake Union.

I think it's on Boat Street. If you know where Ivar's is on the North side of the lake, just head a few blocks east towards UW, around an S shaped turn and there is Northlake Tavern and Pizza.
Lot's of good beers and pizza...I don't really know (or care) what Chicago pizza is, but the pizza there is great, especially when you eat -in so it's fresh and hot out of the oven.

Tutta Bella's pizza is definitely more of an Italian style...thin crust, sparse toppings. But they have a great smoked chicken ceasar salad.

Not Chicago style pizza place but one place that we like to go for pizza and beer is A New York Pizza Place:

A New York Pizza Place (http://www.snellsoftware.com/ANewYorkPizzaPlace/ - broken link)

Probably the closest new york style pizza that we've had here in Seattle. Pagliacci's is suprisingly good too even though it is a chain. There is a sit down one in Kenmore that you can get beer too.

I know this isn't chicago style pizza but are good places for "pizza and beer"

I looked for a good Chicago thick crust for a while and gave up.

What part of town are you interested in going to? There are lots of good pizza places around, but thick crust isn't in demand around Seattle so the better places don't offer it.

It isn't Chicago style...but I second the Northlake Tavern...there is not a better pizza and beer joint in town...

Or you can take them to Serious Pie...or as I like to call it "Pompous Pizza for Pretty People"...

Northlake Tavern is good. I like Romio's on Lake Union. Thursday night's they have Jazz night (free). They make a great pizza and greek salad. All visitors we have had in Seattle want to go back there every time they return.
