I drove our U-Haul truck with my '11 Kia Soul dollied up behind from Alamogordo up here to Moses Lake a few months ago. Stopped off in Phoenix along the way to dump some of our son's stuff off for him. He lives in north Phoenix. You wanna talk about traffic! We hit it about 9:30PM even, it was still heavy then! You won't by any means dodge traffic by moving to Phoenix.

Get ready for some real heat there, too. It's a dry heat? Right.

During one of our summer drives we had stopped in Phoenix for lunch. I remember stepping over crayons melting on the sidewalk outside the restaurant doors. That is some real heat, no fooling.

You could move to Cleveland, Ohio area. Nice place (summer is amazing), mostly good schools, zero unemployment in the tech fields, cheap housing, no crime, no traffic, great transit, tons to do if you bike, kite surf, fish, etc. And no one will give you a hard time when you start complaining about the place because its what everyone does here. Of course, they never leave so their statements run a little hollow.

Cleveland is a cool place, I agree. Especially in winter . Been there several times - fun, flat old town with lots of rec potential.
