I'm moving to Seattle in a few months and I'm considering a couple places to live. Since I'm pretty torn and think I'd like both, I might try to base my decision on my commute. Could anyone shed some light on the following commutes (I was thinking by car but maybe throw in some relevant information about buses if you have any insights)?:

- 4th and Virginia to Sodo (right near CenturyLink Field) before work at 9am
- Sodo (near CenturyLink) to 4th and Virginia after work at 5pm

- east pine and bellevue ave to Sodo (right near CenturyLink) before work at 9am
- Sodo (near CenturyLink) to east pine and bellevue ave after work at 5pm

Thank you so much for your help!

tm888, the commutes you are talking about will be child's play compared to what most people deal with around here. Walk, bike, take a bus, drive, any way will quick.

You can use the Metro trip planner to compare your commutes:
King County Metro Transit Trip Planning

They are both enviable commutes with transit options but the Belltown/SoDo commute is more direct.

My advice?

If you have money, take the light rail: that will get you to Sodo and back to downtown without you having to get in car traffic at all.

If you don't want to spend the money, take a bike.

Either way, the commute should be fairly direct.

7 minute light rail ride, similar bus ride. it would take longer to drive.
