A large part of the area of Redmond from 148th and 24th to 148th and Bel-Red is being redeveloped. Many people mistakenly think of that area as Bellevue.

The East Link station they're calling "Redmond Technology" (NE 40th St) will open in 2023. You will be able to ride light rail from there to the ID station via Mercer Island.

In 2024, the extension to downtown Redmond will be complete. That will make a huge difference in the convenience and desirability of living in downtown Redmond.

I think light rail will improve the east of Bellevue areas eventually. But the truth is this area has aged and now most homes are 40 to 50 years old. Definitely an aging suburban area. Not necessarily a bad area but these homes are not really “suburban” new. This area, (while with the some upscale neighborhoods), has become somewhat plain. This first wave of Seattle sprawl is now an older neighborhood. Redmond is facing some of the same and newer homes continue to sprawl to the east.
