Average highs:

2015: 78.9; 1992: 75.8 (old June record); 69.9 (avg. June high).

Average temp.:

2015: 67.7; 1992: 64.9 (old June record); 60.9 (avg. June temp.).

Quote:
The 78.9 degrees was actually warmer than a typical July or August in Seattle. In fact, it would have been the 8th warmest August on record, or 12th warmest July on record. Put another way, June 2015 was the 19th warmest month overall on record at Sea-Tac, which goes back to 1945. The next time a June month is on the chart for warmest month on record? A tie for 56th.
Quote:
But June has just been a continuation of the long warm trend that's threatening to make it a year-and-a-half straight or more. June makes 16 months in a row with warmer than normal average temperatures and the fifth time since October we've set an all-time warmest month temperature.

This is the first year in our 22 here that I have had to water the lawn before the 2nd week of July just to keep it from going completely brown. I remember a few years when it got to 100 a few times, but who knows what we'll see later this summer? Hopefully, we'll continue to get the nighttime cooling. On the positive side, 60-65 in the early hours of the morning is fantastic, and the vegetable garden loves the heat. We have never had ripe tomatoes this early before.

Weather is always cyclical. I bet it will go the other way at some point. El Nino conditions and what not. http://www.weather.com/news/climate/...ssible-may2015

I prefer this to the rainy Junes and July.. And, some think a dry year means more fires, but actually a wet June and then hot August has resulted in much worse wildfires like last year, where almost 1 million acres burned.

Do it. On weeks like this, it makes all the difference. Took the dogs out and they ran back to the door to be let back in, they hate the heat too.

These last 2 weeks would have been bad without it. We put in ductless heat pumps this winter and having AC included has been a huge benefit so far.
