Hi, I will be visiting Seattle soon, and will be staying near Issaquah. But will need to visit Downtown Seattle many times. Just wondering if the two bridges going across Mercer isle are toll roads?
If so, is it manned? or automatic only? And how much if needed to pay please?

Thanks.

No tolls on I-90, 520 is the tolled bridge (not manned, automatic license scan). This means that I-90 can be busier, be aware of that during commuting hours, which seem to never stop around here these days.

Oh, and one more thing...they know how to read out of state plates! As I learned eventually. Some natives might remember when 520 was tolled with manual toll booths, yep, actual people to take your money and give you change when the bridge operated in the 60's and 70's. The toll was 35 cents.

If going from Issaquah to downtown Seattle, it can be easier and cheaper (when you figure in parking) to park your car at the Issaquah Transit Center and take a bus:

When I had out of state plates, I never paid the toll but I guess they have caught up to it now?

When my car was new, I never paid toll...lol.

I don't know how it works, but I believe they at the very least have the ability to identify neighboring states, such as Idaho and Oregon. If you have a new car sticker and no plates, you are scott free, because to what I understand, they only photo your front plates.

I stand corrected. They photo both the front and back.
