That is true about the Kenmore schools and about the commute as well, but I did not like the feel of it around the 73rd Ave on 202 - Dollar General, Thrift store and all that.

Bothell seems like it may be a difficult commute to downtown.

We were looking for a home in Shoreline and just about gave up b/c a lot of the neighborhoods we found didn't look very nice. We just bought in Richmond Beach and we really like it. We had also looked around Lake Forest Park (part of Shoreline Schools) and liked that area as well. Shoreline schools are overall very good. Our budget was similar to your's.

I lived in Sammamish plateau before and I know a lot of people who buy in Snoqualmie Ridge. It is a bit of a commute, but I do know lots of people who do it. I have found 90 to be a much better commute than 5 or 405, especially going west in the AM and east in the PM. Snoqualmie schools have some overcrowding issues they are dealing with due to all the new construction, but most of the issues are with the older grades. Hopefully thy will be worked out by the time your kids are older. Issaquah is having these same issue too, especially in the Highlands.

Good luck!

I don't know anything about school districts or where Indian people like to live, but I think some of the NE Seattle neighborhoods are often overlooked by people looking for homes. I live in Wedgwood and there are quite a few homes in your price range (not new construction, but well built older homes). Another nice neighborhood in NE Seattle is Meadowbrook. You can easily take a bus from Wedgwood to downtown or you can transfer in the U District and get some delicious Indian food. I think Wedgwood is a hidden gem within the city of Seattle.

Thank you Cecilia, I did not find anything in the 600k range in Wedgewood or Meadowbrook.

Hi Evergreentori, thank you for your inputs. The schools are good in Issaquah but the houses are very expensive. Snoqualimie will be a bit of commute. I checked with a couple of folks and the bus commute from Lynnwood transit center to Seattle downtown is around 40 minutes, that will work for me.

My #402 Double Tall bus ride from Lynnwood TC at 6:49am to Seattle is usually 25 minutes. For some reason a #417 in morning rush is shown at 40 minutes, the rest are no longer than 35 minutes. Late afternoon from Seattle is 35 to 40 minutes on a #402, #417, #511 or #512, whichever one shows up first.
