We are getting ready to make the move to the Seattle area. We haven't decided on a city yet but probably within 45 miles of the airport. Currently our family of 4 (kids 6&7 years old) use our towns recreation center daily. It has an indoor pool, workout facilities, kids classes and an indoor track. Are there any cities that have anything like that? Thanks for the input...

Lots of cities around Seattle have a Recreation Center, some amenities, and many programs go along with it. If your town doesn't offer what you're looking for, you can use another town's, you just pay a little more as a non resident. Just Google (city name) Parks and Recreation Center. Seattle Proper itself has many neighborhood centers.

Federal Way has the largest aquatics center in the state. What other things are important to you? What is your housing budget?

Some rec center aquatics programs are very nearly full-on water parks. Some have indoor pools and wading pools and smaller slides, some are outdoors with lots of larger slides, wave pools and activities. They're in just about every town, but people travel around for different experiences.

You can find lots of classes for kids and adults through the parks and rec website(s). There's a ton of stuff to do, and usually a few centers near you from which to choose.

Welcome!
