Wow, I'm getting mixed signals about the traffic here! I guess I'm just glad it's not 100% apocalyptic for everyone.

Oh and thanks a lot for tips on where the tech jobs tend to be. That'll help me scope out areas and neighborhoods. I would like to go up and visit several times before I actually move. Does anyone have some areas or things I should definitely check out? I don't think I'll be able to move for awhile so I've got plenty of weekends to go up there.

Yeah, Portland's traffic is getting pretty bad. Kind of like Seattle, Portland has some geography issues with the rivers and hills boxing the city in and restricting the size of roads.

Did you read those? None of them are really that scathing from what I saw. At least for me they aren't since I'm a chick. A surplus of reserved nerdy guys that are actually WANT relationships instead of endless hookups? Sounds perfect for me.

Haha! That is the question . . . The problem is that I just changed jobs. I was on contract and it ended so I didn't have a choice. I was thinking about making the move this summer but I had a weird housing situation and just wasn't sure about the whole thing so I took a job down here. I like the job and I just moved apartments as well so as antsy as I am to move onto something better I think I'm going to try to wait until the new year. At least it will give me lots of time to do research and come up and check things out a few times.
