Hello Everyone,

I am moving from FL to the eastside in a month and was hoping to get some updated recommendations for apartments in the Bothell and surrounding areas. Anyone have any advice for someone looking to spend up to $1500 for a 1br/1ba?

Thanks!

I'd stay closer to downtown and the new Landing. Bothell is quite charming. Just a bit south you can also score something in one of the nicer buildings in Lynnwood with indoor/outdoor pools, gym, lodge-type game rooms to watch movies or ...the Seahawks! I think there are some older units in Lake Forest Park and heading toward Edmonds. I'd avoid Mountlake Terrace. Hope this helps!

There are 3 ~brand new buildings around/in downtown Bothell that fit that budget: six oaks, beardslee crossing, 104. They are non-smoking buildings.
Do you smoke?
Bailey Farms up in Mill Creek = Bothell is newer too.
In adjacent Kenmore, is Spencer 68, brand new.
Older buildings will be less expensive such as beaumont out in woodinville and many others along the bothell-everett road.
Where will you work?

You will do fine in that price range in Bothell, I lived there for 5 years, downtown. It is getting jam packed there though. Anywhere in Bothell would be fine...also Canyon Park, and Mill Creek as well....anything up and down Bothell Everett Highway...would do.

Hey Everyone! Thanks for the recommendations. I am actually going to be working in southern Kirkland/northern Bellevue. I understand the traffic getting into Kirkland is quite bad. Right now my idea is to rent outside of Kirkland and drive into my job so that I can get a little more space/apartment for my money but if the traffic and drive is really that bad I might just pony up the extra cash to be within a 5 minute commute of my work. Thoughts?

If you travel in normal times, then traffic will not be good. Try googlemaps to see what the commute time would be from dt bothell. Yes, that is the tradeoff you will have to decide, though I don't think Kirkland/Belluvue rentals will be that much more than Bothell. Bothell is nice enough on its own. Do you smoke?

If you want an apartment building that is strictly non-smoking, then most will be new. I found older buildings built in 1980s 90s early00s allow smoking in units and patios. So one takes a chance with immediate neighbors in those, if heavy smoke is going to bug you and it should.
