Love Breezy Town and its sister restaurant Windy City pie. Otherwise, my favorite pizza in town was the bar in The Crocodile, which had a nice little pizza oven. Unfortunately The Crocodile is moving post-Covid, and though they will have pizza in the new location, seems that it will be a new format. Seattle seems to trend towards chewier, slightly charred Neopolitan pies with regional ingredients. The Crocodile turned out the closest replication of NJ suburb pie that I have found in Seattle, with a thin, slightly crisp crust dusted with cornmeal, ane relatively basic ingredients.

That Crocodile bar pizza was my favorite too! And very cheap during late night happy hour if I recall.

Agreed! I used to swing by there with coworkers for HH pizza when I was still working downtown.

Chicago's Pizza With a Twist in Alderwood Manor.

Not because they do deep-dish (although they do) but because of all the Indian options, like curry sauce and tandoori sauce.

His Seattle second-tier favorite locations will be briefly mentioned in his new book:

I have a new favorite, Sparta's in Lynwood, on highway 99. They use Danish mozzarella and the cheese is on top of the other toppings, instead of under. We had the Sparta's Special, with Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, Salami, Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Olives and Onions. It was fantastic, as was the salad with Creamy Feta dressing. There is another Sparta's in Bothell, but we have not had pizza there, we just got Italian dishes to go there during the pandemic.
