They weren't from the Seattle area, or Washington for that matter. Trust me....

I bow to your all knowing omnipresence ... guess my neighbors can't be locals either, even though they told me they were born in Fremont and Kent. Liars .....

The 'Seattle freeze' doesn't actually exist. It's no harder or easier to make friends in Seattle than it is in Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Miami etc.

What does exist is the simple fact that it's hard to make friends as an adult.

Wanna make friends? Get a 2nd job in a kitchen working nights. It's usually a bunch of dudes and they usually go out drinking afterwards. Buy the first round, Insta-friends.

I've worked in enough kitchens and definitely can vouch that it is true. Any chaotic job where you are working with bunch of other hard working fellows will usually result in quick friendships. No easier way to make a good friend than to break a sweat alongside with him.

Good luck though getting a kitchen job as a "second" job.

They don't need to name it there. It's an inevitability.
