Mukilteo has good schools, Edmonds as well, also Bothell with Northshore schools. Of the three, Edmonds by far has the most "village" feel, with the added benefit of have commuter rail to Seattle, Amtrak long distance train (can take it to Vancouver BC, Portland OR, even California). Edmonds has pubs, coffee shops, art galleries, cafes. It is on Puget Sound, you can catch a ferry to Kingston and be on your way to the magical Olympic Peninsula in no time.

There are thousands of British expats in Seattle, my other British clients often go to fun meet ups. George and Dragon is a legendary British owned and operated excellent pub in the Fremont area of Seattle, packed year round for footy matches and packed with Brits during most Premiership matches. Our professional team, the Sounders, draws 50,000 fans a match, more than double any other side in our professional MLS league. Great footy culture, will remind you of home.

Mukilteo will also give you that "village by the sea" feel. Not as "happening" as Edmonds, but worth checking out.

Crazy, I agree, Mukilteo is nice. I just focused on Edmonds Bowl for the train options and the fact that it is a more cohesive and dynamic "village" core.

Yeah thanks guys both areas seem to look great, Edmond may swing it for train option and a little busier.
Just waiting for the offer to see if I can afford it, fingers crossed.

One final thing and I know it's difficult to say, but if I was offered say 90-100k to work. Would that be a reasonable living for a family of 4, bearing in mind I would be the only earner for a while. I don't live extravagantlyrics, like a few beers, meal 2/3 times a month, take the kids out a couple of times a month and maybe a holiday for 2 weeks once a year. This would be based on livinyl in Edmond area and renting for 2-2.5k or buying for about 500.

Thanks

Neil, as long as you can watch your pennies, I think you could make that work.
