It's actually NOT below freezing most of the time. When there is a snowstorm that stays on the ground and ices over (about once a year) the hills can be tough, snow clearance minimal and the drivers overreactive and terrible. You tend to get more snow/ice in east King County in the foothills

Is it capable of snowing? Yes.

Does it snow often? No. I think the last major snowstorm we had was about 4 or 5 years ago.

You are absolutely wrong TS. It is NOT below freezing most of the time. It is RARELY EVER below freezing. This is not North Dakota or Antarctica.

It was below freezing at 29F this morning in many parts of Seattle. For Seattle that is rare, with the marine influence it's hardly ever below freezing. We get a lot more ice and snow here in Sammamish at 600' but I work in Seattle, and can only remember one or two times that there was ice or snow in the last 5-6 years there. Right now our front lawn is white, as it has been since last Wednesday from the frost and freezing fog never melting. It's still only 35 at 2pm, the cars are still frosted up and the neighborhood roads still have a lot of white on them.

I went to university in New England so actually know how to drive in snow. During the rare Seattle big snowstorms, I often have to ferry friends around, feel like I'm in the middle of a pinball game with the other bad drivers around me. Something tells me we are going to get at least one of those storms this winter.

I'm not betting on it.
