I prefer below 67 during the Winter months.
Not indoors, you're not! What "Californians" blast the AC all summer? What AC? There is no AC. I don't believe your post; it reads like a troll post.

I live in both California and Washington and the only place I have every had A/C is in Washington... never lived in a home anywhere else with A/C...

Washington is also the only home where I have both a pellet stove and a wood fireplace insert.

Many homes have AC, actually.

New houses and those with updated HVAC systems have AC. It's not uncommon anymore. 10 years ago it was somewhat unusual but over the past 5 years you see it popping up a lot more even in starter homes priced under $800K.

Part of the reason is many now use Heat Pumps which are sold as being more efficient and provide both heat and cooling with efficiency depending on outside ambient air temp.

Sounds like the landlord is a cheapskate, wanting to save a few bucks at the sake of comfort.

'Cause it feels icey to me! If I lived alone it would probably be set at a tropical 72 Usually I just live alone, so I just set the thermo at what feels comfortable to me (I know, the luxury...) then turn it down when I leave.

I'm in a roommate situation where my landlord/roommate sets the thermo...soooo, I don't really want to rock the boat. When she doesn't want to use this side of the house it's at 60 (**Plus, I am getting a good deal, although I'm not sure if it is worth it, if I can't really live in the house ; )

I'm usu not at home during the day, so it doesn't affect me that much, however when I wake up in the morning *early* the house feels sooo icey. Would just a few degrees make a difference, I am wondering? Plus, think about taking a shower when it's 60.

I'm all about conserving energy and not wasting, but it just feels like I'm camping.

Utilities and everything are all included in my rent soooo - in my experience, every time that happens, I get a bit "iced out"...though I don't really want to complain if Seattle is just going through I cold snap currently..

What setting do you keep your house at?
