Tip for all the pollyannas among us. Don't hate on the negative too much.

I'm all for dialectic.
Without some negative, the positive is meaningless.

God forbid we take a moment to look at all the good things we have going for us! *eye roll*

In these times of growing water scarcity and unseasonably warm weather in CA & the SW, I've come to have a real appreciation for Seattle's rain.

Trees, plants (including immaculate flowers in the spring), mountains, large bodies of water and some decent parks.. I could do without the city though.. I guess what I like about Seattle is what is outside of Seattle, not what is in it. The only places in Seattle I admire, themselves, are once again tied in with nature, The Alki Beach boardwalk (like the views not the boardwalk so much), Green Lake and Discovery Park. Although, Point Defiance Park in Tacoma blows Discovery Park away.

I could write a list what I don't like about Seattle, but don't want to crap on your thread.. So, let's just say a view of Rainier to the south, the Central Cascades to the east, and the Olympics to the west is pretty phenomenal.

Sadly, where I am moving I will get a view of sagebrush and big brown hills, which sucks, but oh well, I lose a lot of the otherwise negative aspects of Seattle which I won't list here.

I'm with this guy. I'm not a complete misanthrope but the greatest attractions of this area aren't the man-made ones. (Those can be pretty second rate...) I'm not alone in finding all the natural resources the most compelling reasons for living here. Unfortunately I'm not alone in this appreciation... The real estate is as expensive and scarce as the parking spots at the coveted places for recreational access. For example it gets pretty congested if you want to go hiking, boating or skiing.

I guess I'm more of a small town guy.

At least you won't have all these dreadful trees to get in the way of your views.
I like both the green plant life on this side of the mountains and those open vistas on the other side.
I like how both the forests and deserts smell. Completely different plants. Completely different appeal.

I love the weather ... never too hot, never too cold. Can run and bike year round.

Ranier was very cool for us, but it was so packed!! haha. The bathroom though is rather not friendly and the commute is rather far.
