I would like to make a big move from Cleveland, OH to Seattle when I graduate with my bachelors in Human Resources. I work for Hyatt hotels, and I want to stay in the hotel industry. I could stay with the company and move up, because we have a few properties there in Seattle. I just want to know how the industry is overall there. Are there a ton of other companies that I could potentially go to? Is it hard to get hired there? What advice would you give me?

Our hospitality industry is strong, but seasonal. With all of the summer tourists, especially the cruise passengers May-October, the hotels are pretty much full. This time of year, not so much. I walk by the Edgewater every day, and lately the parking lot is about 1/8 full, in summer it's packed. People don't plan trips to Seattle in winter. The bigger downtown hotels will get event guests during winter, but we don't have big events every day.
