elktronics, I think it is less about winning now and more that Lincoln has overseen entirely more mediocrity than was necessary. Any other CEO would have been out many years ago, Lincoln had himself shockingly insulated from consequences. We've been down this road too many times in Seattle, time for a change.

From a fan perspective yes, but that's not usually how the owners view the CEO position. Given the increase in value of the team (TV partnership etc) I'd say they probably weren't all that unhappy for most of those years.

It's not simply Lincoln stepping down. Nintendo is reducing their stake in the team to 10%. It's a good thing. it's one thing to produce a wii console. It's another to produce a winning ballclub.

He also doesn't know how many outs there are. I have to admit, that never gets old.

The Cubs and the White Sox are both leading their divisions. What in the world?

As the OP on this one, I must backtrack a bit. While it was perhaps too early to call this team mediocre after 8 games, it is probably too early to say they have turned it around. But, wow...what a nice series winning streak, and 8 of the past 10, and FIRST PLACE IN THE AL WEST! It is indeed a long season, but I can honestly say I was perhaps way wrong.

Always best to wait til memorial day before making judgements. If your 8 games under .500 by June 1 then you may be in for a long season.
