I know 8 games in is a bit early, but this team has no offense, despite many star offensive players (?), and are winless at home after 5 at the Safe. I hope for a turnaround, but this team looks terrible, already last in the AL West. Can they get out of this mess? I do have hopes but this start is ugly with a capital "U".

If the Mariners were 4-4 now, they'd be mediocre. At 2-6, they're off to a terrible start. But they've only played eight games. Most of the players are new. They'll figure it out. I'm still saying they'll finish over .500.

Yes, hopefully an early blip. But the talent on this team needs to step up.

Went to the game a few days ago, great seats. Painful experience.

it is very early- 8 games played out of 162 is about 5 percent of the season (if my math is correct) meaning 95 percent of season left to play- a very long way to go- it would be like writing the Seahawks off if they started off the season 0-1, hopefully the Mariners turn it around.

Wow, aren't you optimistic, Ira500. I did not expect these results so early. I think they'll improve but I no longer think they'll vie for the AL West Pennant like I did about a week ago. Very disappointing start.

Still love the new philosophy, speed, focus on getting on base, working the count and good defense. Will be a much more fun type of baseball to watch once they get it going instead of strikeout after strikeout waiting for the homer.

The Ms seem to have infectious hot-cold-bat-itis. One of them starts missing pitches and they all do. Then someone recovers and they all get better. Something in the water I surmise.

Never thought of that, but I think you are correct.

Nice walk off win today over Texas to atleast get one win at home in this stand. Long road trip ahead to Yankees, Indians, and Angels. I still believe in this team but they need to start producing runs. I hope it comes, and heck, this team seems to be better on the road, as they were last year.
