Hi all! I'm a new college grad and I just moved to Seattle about two weeks ago! It's been great so far hanging out with my roommate's friends and my coworkers, but I'm trying to branch out a little bit more. What, in your opinions, is the best way to meet other 20+ year olds?

I've tried Meetup before when I lived in New York, but didn't find it to be so useful at making long-term friends. I'd appreciate all the help I can get

It depends on your interests. Do you like outdoor recreation? Attend seminars at REI Co-op. Do you like hiking? Join the Mountaineers and attend their singles events. Their events aren't only hiking trips, they have social events for singles year round. Do you like soccer? Join a co-ed soccer league at the nearest park to your home. Volunteer for the film festival or to set up one of the annual street fairs. Look at the events calendar in the newspaper, and pick some activities to do.

Join a canoe or rowing club. Do you like theater? Take an improve workshop, or volunteer to work on sets at local theaters. Do you like dancing? Attend the folk dance nights, or learn salsa or swing dancing. Get involved with the Folklife Festival administration and events (they organize year-round concerts and events). Check out the Parks Department activity schedule; they offer free classes of various sorts to the public from a number of locations.
