Depending on where in the Carolinas you've been, the kids might not think winter is cold at all. My warm jacket that I used for two or three months most winters in NC, I've worn maybe a dozen times in the four years we've been here.

You're not aware of it reflecting your opinion or how you experience Seattle temps. To some people, 46-47 is quite a cold snap. And you're saying it's the average in Seattle winters. That's all I meant.

This past winter there were a good number of days where it was warmer here than it was at my parents place down in Tampa, FL...

I know the demographic websites all say what Botev is saying, but I'm just not buying it. I've lived here a long time and I always check weather forecasts and most mid winter days seem to be about 36-40 degrees. Sometimes it goes higher, sometimes lower.

Lake Wylie, SC. Coming from the East Bay of San Francisco area. I'm thinking we'll play it by ear after hearing everyone's experiences.

No, I was replying to someone who said the average winter day is in the 30s which is not true. Never said anything about cold or warm.

Look at the stats for the last 3 years. The source is the National Weather Service.
