I have spent a lot of time in Seattle and surroundings. And did notice how some, especially those born there took what the had for granted. But it never got old for me. I made a point of planning at least two trips to new places and one or two re-visiting others.
I've lived in the Baltimore - Washington area my entire life. I enjoy showing out of towners around. The Capitol, White House, Smithsonian, Arlington National Cemetery (My parents are buried there on the grounds of the Tomb of the Unknowns), the civil war battle fields, Ocean City and much more, really make this area rich with things to do and see. We're as rich with history as the Pacific NW is with scenery and nature. But I have tired of the winters. Not necessarily snowy, but cold and too long for me. I would really love to settle down in the San Diego area near my wife's family. If only the real estate market would settle down. I have become more of a beach person over the years. But regardless of where I finally settle, I will always visit the PNW when I can.
