So i have been creeping on this forum for the better part of about 10 years, constantly waiting to make my very own thread that solicits advice from strangers in a town ive been dying to move to!

Im going to thank anyone who replies in advance!

And im also going to Apolpgize for anything wrong with this post in advance also!

im currently living in the SF bay area! but ive only been here about a year! i moved here from Erie, PA.

i recently landed a job in the seattle area with a slight promotion at my company!

I have a friend who is moving out to seattle to meet me but not until december 14th

so heres the question

Im going to be working at the southern end of the Interbay portion of seattle.

making about 2,400 a month

and only bringing a bike

my friend and i are going to split an apartment when he gets there

but im looking for a monthly rental, that in the meantime i can live at within biking distance from my work.
that i wont have to touch my savings for, i dont mind spending everything i make in the first month for lodging. but i desperately need some advice.

Interbay is a big area ... more specifics about where your job is would help. There is a nice youth hostel in Pike Place market - Green Tortoise Hostel

I'm assuming south of Dravis. Off 15th or Elliott?

I'd recommend looking for a temporary rental or sublet:

For housing within walking/biking or short bus ride to south Interbay, look in Magnolia, West Queen Anne, Lower Queen Anne, Queen Anne - South Slope, Belltown, and Ballard.

Note: From Magnolia, ride your bike to W Dravis & Gilman & Gilman Ave W to connect with the Interbay to Elliott Bay Bike Trail. From West Ballard, walk your bike across the Ballard Locks to Magnolia.

Bike/pedestrian Passovers (over the rail tracks) from the bike trail to Elliott Way exist at W Galer, W Prospect (Helix Pedestrian Bridge), and W Thomas.
