Hi all,

I am relocating to Seattle this September. My job is near Northgate mall. I have a 5 year old, 3 year old and a new born. I am turning to the forum to hopefully find local residents who can give recommendations on:

1. Good daycare centers for my 3 year old and newborn. I have heard about the long waiting list that run for one or two years out. Is that still the case for Northwest Seattle? Can you give me names of good daycare centers so that I can check them out? I am looking for high quality daycare centers, not home based day care.

2. A real estate agent to find rental houses? I'm looking for rental house 3bed2bath w/ at least 1 car garage and most importantly zoned to a good public elementary school.

3. I have narrowed my choices to these elementary schools. Do you have insights on the neighborhood + quality of these schools?

North Beach Elementary School

West Woodland Elementary School

Wedgwood Elementary School

View Ridge Elementary School

Parkwood Elementary School

Olympic hills elementary school

Ridgecrest Elementary School

Highland Terrace Elementary School

Meridian Park Elementary School

Thanks so much!

Try Tara's Tots for the 3 year old, it's a magical place: Tara's Tots Preschools

Thanks. It looks nice but licensed for 4 hours childcare per day then kids have to go to another school next door. I will need to find full time daycare centers for my 3 year old and the newborn. Any recommendations?

For full time daycare that you don't have to go on the list preconception, try Bright Horizons which is "too corporate" for most Seattle people.

As always, we need to know your housing budget to make concrete recommendations about locations.

I forgot to mention we budget up to $3500 for rent. Thanks.
while researching, I read that Kids Inc has childcare program for preschooler and before/after school programs for school age children on West Woodland elementary campus. Does anyone have opinions on their program quality? if it's a good childcare program, I'm tempted to find a rental house zoned to West Woodland so that I can send both of my kids to the same location.
