Hi everyone reading this,

I might get confirmation of a job in Bellevue this friday. SO I could be asking for no reason if I do not get the job.

I just cant sleep anymore. haha

I grew in Fresno CA for 22 years in and a few years ago came to Sacramento CA to finish my B.S. I graduated last month and maybe have a job offer in the Factoria area of Bellevue. I have no idea where I can/should live.

Maybe you can offer me your two cents or tips while I search. IF I get the offer, pay was going to be in the range from 63k to 65k with bonus of 10% based somewhat on company performance.

I currently am living smali studio in downtown sac and would prefer to upgrade to a single bedroom place. My biggest fear is signing a lease for a minimum of a year in a crappy spot. I've been suggested that I should rent a room on craigslist until I get my feel for the areas around.

Since my focus would be my job I would prefer living nearby the factoria area. I have a car( bucket ) but would prefer to take a bus/transit or ride my bike.

I know I maybe jumping the gun and I'll keep you guys posted of the decision.

Thank you all in advance for the help!

1 bedroom that is close to Factoria on that salary seems like it can be a big ask. You should also post what your commute tolerance is and what you plan on spending a month on rent. Having a roommate would open up your options a lot too.

There are no crappy areas in Bellevue, and there are apartments right at Factorial and also in the Crossroads area that are affordable on that salary, $1,500 and up.

I would focus on an older apartment in Factoria itself. It isn't cheap, but should be manageable on your salary.

One option is to live in downtown Renton and take the #240 to Factoria (about 40 minutes). Check if first- or last-miles are doable. Metro buses do have bike-racks.

Route 240 - King County

I could not find a single bd for that price online either. I did have more luck when I searched for roommates.

I rather have a short commute. At the most, 30 min in traffic a plus if I can avoid the highways. A 45 min ride in a bus does not sound bad.

@Hemlock140

That's good to hear, I guess I am worried about bad managers.

@homesinseattle yeah i'm good with something old, what website would be the best to check them out from? If I get the job I'll be visiting next week .

@CrazyDonkey - Yes renton was an area I first looked at thank you for the link..I think I will have better luck there.

In a quick search I found these around $1,500. Lake hills is a little less expensive than Crossroads, but farther out from shopping.

3 miles in one direction can be very different from 3 miles in a different direction. Commuting from the north or east would be faster, but more expensive. If you can find something around Crossroads (north of NE 8th, along 156th Ave NE), you'd have great access to shopping, a pretty vibrant, diverse community, and a very consistent commute via surface streets. Factoria used to be pretty cheap, but it's been getting more popular since it's not a totally excruciating commute to Seattle from there. Just south of Factoria, traffic to/from Renton and Kent gets pretty dang nasty. Not impossible, but quite unpleasant just about any time of day I've ever been through there.
