We can always assume California will be the number one contributor since so many Bay Area companies have offices here and housing is less expensive. But once again, Texas is number two. They skip all those states in between, to come to King County? It's a mystery. Oregon next is no surprise and anyone on this board sees the regular inquiries from Florida. So the ranking goes:

1. California
2. Texas
3. Oregon
4. Florida
5. Arizona
6. New York
7. Illinois
8. Colorado
9. India
10. Georgia

There's nothing like getting caught between a California and seasoned Seattle driver.

I moved here from Texas this year. Kind of weird that I came here to escape the high prices and taxes.

Among those from CA, most of them are within an hour range of LA. So this is a very concentrated group. Surprised there isn't some weird, We Miss LA, social group lol. It must be so different for a native Californian to move to Seattle, the weather, the culture, the environment, etc.

One thing I notice is that these CA movers are very political right away. I think they vote in local elections by a larger proportion than someone who is a native Seattle area citizen. They are active and donate money. No data to back this up, something I just notice, I talk politics whenever I can.

Well hopefully they are moving here because they are tired of California culture, not to recreate it with cheaper real estate here. (Oh, I'm making myself chuckle right now, hahahahahaha). Hooray for more cars and more chain stores!!

Yes indeed franklin. As a born and bred Miami boy 28 years in Seattle now, I can tell you that politics, materialism and weather are pretty bizarre in Florida. I can imagine that Seattle looks pretty attractive to some. Interestingly, in my work, I'm meeting quite a few Europeans lately (Brits, French, Italians) relocating to Seattle for tech jobs.

California, Texas and Florida are most populous states, and Oregon is right next door, so these are not surprising.

India?
