I plan to drive up to Vancouver, Canada, leave my car at airport parking, and take an international flight. Is there anything I should be aware in terms of border crossing, parking, and/or anything else I need Should know?

I’m assuming customs/border crossing will just the same as usual?(show passport)

Are there any issues with airport parking, with my car registered in U.S? Just want to make sure...I’m assuming there aren’t any weird laws or anything.

I've driven up from the Seattle area to Vancouver many times to take BA flights from YVR. Often times, award ticket availability is much better from YVR than from SEA.

The long-term parking there is good. There are good deals to be had online through the YVR web site. There's a dependable little shuttle to the terminal looping through the long-term parking lot at regular intervals. My car has never been touched when I leave it there for weeks on many occasions. US plates. Nobody cares.

ETA: At the border, they ask your reason for entering Canada. I just say I'm catching a flight from YVR. No problems ever.

Thanks! Do you need to reserve parking online?

No, you don't have to reserve online. You can just drive up. But you can save up to 40% over regular drive-up rates by booking online.

Also, there are other private companies near YVR that offer significantly cheaper parking than the airport itself.

Easy squeezy, have done it a number of times. Canadian border guards are great, unless you mention guns. It's the often young, stonefaced, attitude filled US border guards coming back into the country who are a drag. Just say yes ma'am and yes sir and avoid sarcasm.
