Oh, *whew* Thanks. For a minute or two there, I thought there was something to be alarmed about. But hey, if other countries have issues, then -- move along, folks. Nothing to see here. MYOB. Just some public shootings by random drunks on a pleasant summer evening in a popular neighborhood promenade area. Not a big deal. Keep it moving.

BTW, Seattle isn't London. That's the point. It's not NYC, either. Some people actually move to Seattle because it isn't NYC or Chicago, or East LA. It's not one of the main Urban Grit centers of America. Especially West Seattle.

To equate a few knife and acid attacks with the amount of gun killings in the USA is laughable. These incidents in London are mostly limited to a few rough neighborhoods. Chew on these 2018 gun death and incidents in the USA stats, Cinemacat. It's chilling, by any measure: Gun Violence Archive

I almost chose Alki because it is much closer to my work but settled on First Hill since I wanted to be in the city center. Alki is great but West Seattle is somewhat isolated from the rest of the city. That being said, I have a few single female coworkers in their 30s who live over there and they seem to enjoy it.

Right. Some people see its relative isolation as a plus. With the water taxi, it's easier to get downtown from there, than it is from north Seattle neighborhoods, and the rent's lower than First Hill or Cap Hill. It's a more suburban vibe, too, which some people prefer.
