I think that is a fair point, but Trader's has moved into other stand alone markets over the years, such as Eugene and Medford, OR. I think they take a good look at demographics and then make a calculated financial decision.

Eugene and Medford seem like no brainers demographically, Tri Cities not so much. Maybe they are opening their minds more to sniff out unexplored opportunities. That's good. I just found this article which seems to shoot down the idea for now. I had forgotten though, they are in Spokane. That seems to give more credence to the idea.
