I'm considering an offer with a potential employer located in SoDo and I see that the SoDo area is particularly susceptible to liquefaction in the event of a major earthquake. Are there any resources where I could find some information on any retrofitting or preventative work done on their building?

1) ask the employer
2) check building Dept for permits / Seismic improvements
3) engineer it yourself (you can see structure, but a lot is done' underground'

Liquefaction will be bad EVERYWHERE in Western WA, I would think hillsides (clay, gravel flowing water) will be worse than flat areas. (SODO). But it is true... SODO may likely SINK!

I spent quite a lot of time in Christchurch and liquefaction has had a HUGE toll (more deaths / suicides AFTER the quake, having to put up with MUD oozing through your floors / yards, streets fr YRS!!) 22 February 2011 at 12:51 p.m. local time (23:51 21 February UTC) (While we were Sleeping)

I recall SODO had some damage during or 2001 earthquake, if you read up on some Seattle history you learn why.

I do want to note that it's best not to ask your future employer about this unless you want them to make the hiring decision and not yourself.

If the building is newish or has been renovated recently it's probably a good bet. There are a lot of unrenovated buildings in SoDo however.

Zone into the property here, and keep clicking until you get the full property report "property detail". King County Parcel Viewer

It's not a perfect database, with plenty of errors and omissions. But it has a lot of good clues.

SODO definitely is in this liquefaction zone. I believe this has been a known fact going back to before the new stadiums were built. My understanding, there was extra construction measures taken in these areas, but how to understand what these measures may or may not do, is somewhat disconcerting. I would guess that there are extra measures with construction but the jury may still be out. I, personally, would not buy real estate is this area. However, there seems to be quite a bit of development going up around the stadium district. I have some concerns, but the area continues to grow. I do wonder if this is smart.

The main concern is old multi-storyun-reinforced masonry (brick) buildings, which are more likely to be found in Pioneer Square than in SoDo, where older warehouses or newer buildings are more likely to be found. For instance:
