Too simple. I moved here in 1989 and loved it way before I started in real estate in 2000. I still love it. We live in a nice part of town, get out in nature a lot, that might make a difference. Here are a few of my reasons: //www.city-data.com/forum/seatt...e-what-do.html

Same here, especially the weather. Except when it’s in the 90s like last week. Today was a perfect summer day.
I pass through the Pine Street homeless on the sidewalk every day, just makes the walk more interesting. I wouldn’t live in Seattle, though. We have been here 25 years and still haven’t seen all of the state, there is a lot more to it than Puget Sound, if you don’t like it here.

I left Seattle and entire Puget Sound for many of the reasons the OP described. I agree with the OP about everything except the commute times from Maple Valley. With traffic it could even take hours to get into Seattle on most weekdays.

If Seattle is full of such wimpy, beta leftists, why do alpha tough guys have such a hard time here? Shouldn’t you be able to easily muscle your way to the top and have your pick of the women? This is why it’s hard to believe your guys’ portrayals of yourselves. You sound whiny and entitled.

If it takes hours to get from maple valley to Seattle then one doesn’t understand the shortcuts.

That said I usually ignore most of these hate Seattle posts. Fine. Just move then. Why these posters continue to complain after moving, or even thinking of moving is beyond me. Goodbye. Two more will move in to your move out.

I remember hearing a female comedian giving her stereotypes of women in different parts of the country. I only remember what she said about women in Miami and Seattle (and don't remember the comedian's name). She said that women in Miami dress like hookers... i.e., high heels, tight-fitting and revealing dresses, lots of make-up; … and women in Seattle are man-hating Lesbians... they are being the men because the men aren't being men!!!

Check out the late Anthony Bordain's Seattle documentary. He has guests that say something similar. The term and song, "Tech Boy" is featured. The point is the male geeks are taking over the city, and they can't score with the ladies.

The truth goes elsewhere, as it usually does. The birth rate in Seattle is well within the average in the US, and while Seattle may not be a great "club" town, it does still provide males and females providing a continuation of what males and females were born to do.
