I was going to suggest Reno, too. And the Sacramento idea was a great one! COL much lower there, OP, and there are hospital and clinic jobs in Sac & suburbs. What does your husband do?

....do you think they have any intention to work when the OP's question was about "services"? They're probably looking for a free ride, but that's just a cynical hunch....

And those funds won't last very long in Seattle. Everyone has warned the same thing, so don't be surprised or complain if things turn out horribly after moving a family of six to a very expensive place with very little money.

If? If? What's the alternative? Not working? Not feeding four children? Coming to Seattle with a sign on the road? We have people living in tents downtown. TENTS. Soon they will be in tents in the RAIN. People live under overpasses. It's sad to see and yet here is a family of six planning on moving here using their last remaining money. It's incomprehensible.

It's an island. It requires a ferry. The ferry costs money. $5.45 or $44.10 for ten rides for one person. $18.75 for car and driver, $120.90 for ten rides.
