^^ And if I am accused of making sweeping generalizations, when has that stopped anyone else?

I'd never make the statement that "there must be something wrong with you" because they don't like a place.

Ok...Jenbar isn't going to convince toughguy of the praises of Austin and toughguy isn't going to inspire Jenbar to move back to Seattle. Can't we all just get along?

BTW toughguy...have you been here? I don't know a lot of people with Texas accents in Austin. We sound like a bunch of Californians...no accent at all. You want the TWANG, you need to go to Waco or some podunk East Texas town.

I don't recall hearing much (if any) twang while I was in Dallas either.

I don't know anyone with an accent, OR big hair. He's never been to Austin.

Where should I start? Well, apparently you have a hard time deciphering a tongue-in-cheek comment....

It's a compliment that you don't have a sense of humor? Only in Seattle.....

Yeah....well I wasn't talking to you. I was addressing Jenbar. I don't give a rat's a@@ about your ideal weather conditions. Didn't ask you. Don't care. Nor do I care about your erroneous, sweeping generalizations about Texas, *as if* you knew. Was talking to Jenbar. Mind your own business there, mr shiney happy people guy.

People make erroneous, sweeping generalizations about Seattle on a regular basis.

I suppose it's acceptable to make generalizations about Seattle and not Texas...?

That's actually the intent of my stereotypical description of Texas (not Austin in particular). They have such a transient population there, its impossible for everyone to have big hair and saccharine accents, or shotguns in their pickup trucks, despite that being the popular Texas stereotype. Do you get my drift?

I am actually friends with two Texas transplants, neither of whom have accents. Both of them say it is hot as "eff yoo see kay" there, so I guess that attribute can't be denied.
