Magical, 8 inches fallen in Madison Park, kids laughing and sledding outside. I didn't have this as a kid growing up in Miami, only hurricane warnings and large lizard alerts .

We have a family member in Florida now that has had ants in the car twice already. I'll take the snow.

lol ..... I hope you faired well with the large lizard alerts!

Snow brings out the kid in everyone. When I went to sleep we had maybe an inch but it stopped. When I woke up and looked out the window I was shocked!

Amen brotha!! The thing that's surprising to me is no tree limbs on the ground. When heaving snow like this falls back east, tree limbs on the ground is par for the course.

Our Doug firs and Cedars do a pretty good job of folding like an umbrella in heavy snows. It takes a pretty hefty ice storm - or high winds - to break them.

I need to decide whether I should drive to work tomorrow. I really need to be there for an appointment I’d rather not cancel or push off onto a coworker, but I’m nervous about driving down the hill to get to I-5. Anyone know how the roads are currently in Capitol or First Hills? I normally take James and I’m pretty nervous because it’s a steep decline between Broadway and the freeway.

I live on Park. The street was treated against ice yesterday afternoon, when it was still sunny and dry. Later after the first wave of snow it was plowed repeatedly. Plows returned again as the second wave was tapering off.

Real question remains: Will the district keep schools closed again tomorrow? Bellevue has already called it...

Had a friend in Florida with cockroaches in her car. Can you imagine driving on the freeway and seeing a roach crawl across the dashboard?

Thanks! The roads I use are heavily trafficked so I’m cautiously optimistic.
