Do you know where you'll be working? Is there a car to accommodate? Will you need to be close to transit? There are certainly studios and one bedrooms in that price range, and many of them are in nice areas, but you'll get more useful recommendations by helping narrow things down a bit.. It's generally best to start off with as short of a commute as possible.

I'd try heading North in Seattle (Bitter Lake or Victory Heights areas), might give you a shot at that price. You can sometimes find some older units that i think would be in your budget in the Greenwood or Northgate areas. Lake City would be worth a look as well.
