I will be moving to Redmond from India in July with my 6months old baby. Please suggest which area/apartment to prefer. I'm from Hyderabad and I prefer one within Indian community. TIA for any inputs

Crossroads area in Bellevue, which is near Redmond, has an apartment complex that has a fairly high concentration of Indians. Complex is called Piedmont Apartment Homes, and is right off 156th Ave NE and nearby the mall.

Poster was talking nationality not race. But thanks for your attempt to make it something it wasn’t.

I certainly see many young mothers, families, and grand parents of Indian ethnicity at Anderson Park (play apparatus, and picnic facilities ), library, and the civic center commons. There are 3 Indian restaurants and 1 store on Redmond Way. One restaurant is named Hyderabad.

Well, as a practical matter, Indian nationals are of the same race, even if there are minor ethnic subgroups among them. So he was talking about both nationality and race.

IAE, he wants to live among people who look and sound like him. Which is fine. It's an understandable desire.

But, as the other poster intimated, if it's fine for the OP to want to live among his own people, it should be fine for people of all backgrounds. We're all equal, yes? The same rights and standards should apply to all.

If someone had said they wanted to live near an American community in India then no one would care. The support of expats are very useful, regardless of whether they are of the same race or not.

Yep, so let's say you're anglo and moving to China for a few years and you ask to live in a community of Americans, I don't believe that would be racist.
