We didn’t get wind, but it did drop overnight to 38 here, and tonight is supposed to get even colder. I’ll be pulling up the tomato plants today and bring them inside to ripen.

Why is Sammamish so much colder? All other suburbs are in the mid 40s including Issaquah and Snoqualmie.

Honestly, this is not a big deal (for us). Look at the averages on weather underground. We're only a few degrees below average.

Try 10 below. It should be around 68 during the day and 50 at night. This hasn't happened for 30+ years.

I had looked up history for month of October, not today specifically. https://www.wunderground.com/calendar/us/wa/seattle/KSEA/date/2019-10

The weather seem fairly mild from beginning to end. Upper 50's, lower 60's. You know, fall weather...

But the damn forecast is changing a lot. We were supposed to have rain today. Like, .41 inches at one point a few days ago. Thus I had planned today to be a cooking/baking day because of it and yet here we are.. it's SUNNY! And now I don't want to cook. Instead I want to go outside and play..

I'm a miami boy originally, in Seattle 30 years now. Wearing shorts makes me happy, usually 40 degrees F is my limit .

We are at 600’ elevation at my house, while downtown Issaquah is only 108’. Some places in Sammamish like along the lake are less than 100’. So the temperature within every city can vary greatly, higher up is always going to be colder. When you look on the Internet weather sites it depends on where they take the temperature from. I use my own two outdoor thermometers because the news and other sites take it at Inglewood school, which is 200’ lower than us. We are at 46 now.

Seattle temps in late September in the 50's are not very abnormal. This storm is much ado about nothing in the Seattle region. Heck, even the sun was out at Husky Stadium today as they pummeled USC. However, this storm IS pummeling Western Montana and the northern Rockies, which again, is not very abnormal.

It hasn't happened since 1983 is what they said on TV, so abnormal. This is not just one day in the 50s, it's a whole week.

Fair enough. A whole week in the 50's in September would indeed be abnormal. But I think this is just an aberration, not necessarily a sign of a rough winter.

Temps this evening as of 8pm:

Seattle 52
Spokane 33 (mixed precip)
Tri-Cities 46

Another example of how Spokane can be so different than Tri-Cities even though they are only 130 miles apart.
