Could anyone recommend any modern apartment or townhouse complexes for rentals in this area? Family of 4 and commutable to Amazon with good schools. Thanks.

Edmonds. There's Sounder commuter service to downtown. And it's on Puget Sound, with ferry service to the Kitsap Peninsula and beyond. Edmonds is an easier commute to Amazon than Issaquah.

There are brand new complexes in Sammamish, with great schools, and many of your co-workers including one next door (with a Vanpool van) and another across the street. Both are working from home still, however.

apartments.com (costar)
zillow.com rent
Craigslist
do not discount SFH.

there are no areas, that I am aware of, in Redmond that is unsafe.
Sammamish, Bothell, Woodinville, Kenmore are a little more further out but doable.
remember the first home in a new locale, is temporary.

good luck

Issaquah Highlands. It's full of AMZN, GOOG, MSFT... Not full of Jews, but more representation than many areas... Excellent for families... Very close to 90... Excellent schools... Wynhaven attracts newcomers and it's in the neighborhood more than nearby rental communities. They also have some townhomes within a tiny area of owner-occupied SFH and owner-occupied townhomes... -you need to specifically ask if there are any coming available around Ashland Park- trust me!

Klahanie also is a nice community in Sammamish (closer to Issaquah) there are rentals too.

For that kind of money, you could afford a 3bd/2ba house. For instance:
