Yes, agree, RIP, but he died seven and a half years ago.

JP Patches was the man. I was on his show when I was 5 years old.

On the show! wow! Do you have a tape? It's such a funky old show. I met him at an event and I have a JP Patches autograph around here somewhere still... I think.

JP! I was a "Patches Pal" in the day, classic show! Last I saw him we shared a stage mid 00's at the Fishermens Festival.

The clown figure seems to be a dying archetype -- more the stuff of horror movies now than entertainment. I grew up watching J.P. Patches, but sadly I don't remember it much, other than it being silly of course.

I think JP was a perfect example of what Seattle was, a gritty working city.
He was Mayor of the City Dump! Lived in a shack with very humble furnishings, and his manner of dress wasn't to far from old flannel.

So true Sockeye!!

I grew up watching him in the late 60s to the early/mid 70s. I miss the old Seattle and the Working Class feeling this place use to have... When you proud that you got your Levi’s and Converse tennis shoes from Chubby and Tubby’s or your Brittania jeans at the downtown Bon’s Tiger Beat section.
