I'd support Metropolitans.

Strange story. Apparently this person trademarked "Seattle Sockeyes" 2 weeks after the NHL announced they were going to play here. She might be playing hardball with the team: https://www.jamidavenport.com/the-seattle-sockeyes/

I'd prefer the Totems, but is less likely due to the fact that the "totems" originally referred to were all stolen from native peoples. Of course, I wanted the Mariners to be named the Rainiers, so...

Kraken has an association with Crack.

Sockeyes has violent undertones - sock 'em in the eye, which recalls the NHL's heritage of violent fights.

Mets (for Metropolitans) is quite inoffensive, however.

Prefer Sockeyes over Kraken. Yes, hockey is violent. Don't think the "Sockeye" name will make it moreso. Metropolitans is fine, but probably won't be considered as it dates back to before anyone here was alive. Totems already exist, but I guess they could still use that name. I think it will end up as a seafood, though.

Hopefully not Kraken. This is terrible and it's not even in English.

It's ridiculous someone can do that.

I don't even know how many are on a team in hockey. I got a little interested in hockey when I was a kid, but 3 major sports were enough for me, so I dropped interest in hockey. If it's (say) 10 players, I would name the team the 'Elevenses' in keeping with the 'twelves' nomenclature used by the Seahawks. If we're helping to subsidize the stadium, why not name it after us?

Elevenses is not the plural for eleven. You are not being funny either, so no need to keep repeating this nonsense 100 times.
