I know it was posted in the other thread, but all Seattle public schools are closing Thursday the 12th for at least 2 weeks.
More closures likely to follow.

Never once in all of my years of schooling did my school close for 2+ weeks. Kids have no idea how good they have it nowadays.

Schools will end up being closed a lot longer than 2 weeks, I predict.

2 weeks while they re-assess.

I think schools will be closed for at least a couple of months:

Quote:
Federally funded tests conducted by scientists from several major institutions indicated that the novel form of coronavirus behind a worldwide outbreak can survive in the air for several hours.

A study awaiting peer review from scientists at Princeton University, the University of California-Los Angeles and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) posted online Wednesday indicated that the COVID-19 virus could remain viable in the air "up to 3 hours post aerosolization," while remaining alive on plastic and other surfaces for up to three days.

Issaquah wasn't cancelled. Said that they will continue to follow the state and county health departments' direction, which hasn't changed despite all the President and the Governor proclamations.

Will they have to make it up in the summer? Or will they be able to "waive" those days?
