Not much in the 'covid' news. Has the situation stabilized in Seattle? We have a Seattle move planned for end of May. Trying to track the situation and see if we should delay or go as planned. Will be staying in the Somerset area of Bellevue. Currently living in the midwest and there are covid cases here as well, though the numbers are less than the numbers in Seattle. Any suggestions?

At least according to the latest UW IHME projection, the end of May is looking good.

You can never be 100% certain, of course.

Well, Kshama Sawant is still on the council, so I don't think you can use the word "stable".

I know this may sound a bit anticlimactic and contrary to what is shown in the media but there isn't really any "situation" to speak of. At least that has been my perception living here in Queen Anne. I actually think it's quite pleasant with all the downtown workers missing.

But then Bellevue is not Seattle (thankfully).

This whole idea of the Seattle Area being so bad is from the Kirkland Rest Home that was out of control, spreading it widely. Generally I think the whole region is doing well in practicing safeguards.

We are flattening the curve a but but premature to say that it is stable. The virus is still out there, just keep doing all the things you are doing: handwashing, social distancing, wearing masks in stores.

I believe an adjustment to early June will be the final thought. Even after then I don't see EVERYTHING opening up at once. I think it will come back in waves.

Yes, the plan is opening back up in stages and things like big public events (like sports) May not happen for quite some time.

Washington as a whole is doing better than much of the country. New positives are doubling about every 11 days and mortality is doubling every 8 days. Overall, it appears we have passed the peak of the first wave of the pandemic.
