Well someone has to pay for the riots [protests ]damage ,lost small business and Chaz. chop or whatever. May as well be the RICH lol

Actually, this is not a tax on the rich, but on companies based in Seattle that pay their employees well and have a payroll of $7 million or more. There is nothing in the law to restrict the tax to companies that are "rich" or even making a profit. Amazon is, obviously, but it applies to other big companies that could be barely making it. That minimum of $7 million payroll is only 46 employees at $150k salaries.

Homelessness is a mental health issue as much as an economic issue, doubt the problem in Seattle gets any better from this misguided tax. Bet they repeal sometime around 2025 when every decent sized business has moved to Bellevue.

I wonder what portion of our homeless are from out of state? And whether this tax could be expanded to the whole of King County at some point rather than just Seattle proper?
