Losing 30,000 jobs in Everett would not be a positive for Seattle.
(reminds us of the 1980's) Logging + Boeing + economy troubles

So what has Washington State done to stay competitive with other States?

If Boeing chooses to move, they are free to do so, just like Amazon, who in protest, will move most of their higher paying jobs out of Seattle to the suburbs since Seattle is no longer a business friendly location.

Washington voters need to start thinking for themselves and their own future... Once Seattle and Washington State becomes the new Detroit and Michigan, people with money and the means will flee to other States (And screw them up.) where the lower working middle-class will be forced to stay.

Seriously, do you think for one second that communist Sawant will stay on this sinking ship... The ship she sank? Heck no, she’ll flee with all the other rich Liberals/progressives and destroy whatever new city or State they move to.

BA may not have much of a choice if it wants to survive.
Puget Sound area may not have much choice either if it wants to keep its competency in complex of aircraft manufacturing.
USA has already lost a lot of machining expertise.

You should read the article regarding the Boeing decision, as it’s clear you didn’t.

The real purpose of this is to gut the unions. We need federal legislation to protect the rights of unions to organize and strike, and a $15/hr federal minimum wage.

A lot of boeing’s problems are a combination of self inflicted pain and timing of the plandemic destroying the air travel industry seemingly overnight

Agreed. The McNerney bean-counting era set off a steady decline that has left them at the edge of the precipice. It's hard to see how they make it back to their previous dominant position, so they may turn into a niche player.

Last month, a United Airlines Boeing 787-9 had to return to Tokyo’s Narita airport three times for a problem with its leading edge flaps.

It is complicated but a few above hit it on the nose. Unions. Big in WA, not so big in SC. Secondly, management has not been stellar for about a decade plus when they chose to let non-aviation folks run a mega aviation company. Add a passenger drop of unseen proportions puts the company at severe risk.

All that said, the aviation infrastructure in the puget sound area will keep most operations in place for years and decades to come, despite the temporary depression in the industry.
