I might even go.

I dig hockey.
I am a cheapo so I only go when the wife gets free Shark tickets from her work situation.

My favorite hockey though is amateur and semi pro.
We used to like to go to the old Memorial Stadium in Victoria but those days are long gone.

Are there any amateur or semi pro teams around north western wa?

Thanks.
Andy.
Sure, Everett Silvertips are still around I think. I am pretty sure the Seattle Thunderbirds will be continuing as well and play their games in Kent. Spokane has the Chiefs and Tri-Cities the Americans. Not sure if UW has a team or not.

Perhaps oddly, I remarked exactly that to a fellow on a Zoom call yesterday: "Why are you wearing a Cthulhu shirt to our business meeting?" He uhm....corrected....me. I'm a bit skeptical still. I then had to explain to some of the young 'uns who Lovecraft was...origins of modern Horror genre, etc. (sigh).

Though I'm glad on some level there's a team back in town I suppose.

Root Sports will air the Kraken. And the Blazers. So we will get some blazin’ kraken root. Not sure it is legal in this State but should be fun.

While I have no problem with Seattle having an NHL team, and I always wondered as a kid why Seattle never had an NHL team since the 1930's (Seattle was the first American city to win a Stanley Cup, not Boston, NY, Detroit or Chicago of the Original Six https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle_Metropolitans https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...5%E2%80%931926) ), I still wished that the Seattle NHL team would've kept the old Metropolitans nickname the way Ottawa resurrrected the old Senators name. Kraken sounds too superfluous to me and bringing back the Metropolitans name would've at least connected the team to it's 1917 Stanley Cup championship as well as being the first American City to win a Stanley Cup. I still don't understand why the franchise failed to make this connect. Either way, lets hope the name brings some success. If not, rename the team to the Metropolitans. The only issue isn't the team but the name IMHO.

I'll follow the highlights....not ready to subscribe to NHL TV as I have subscriptions to the 3 others sports.

I'm looking forward to it.

I don't care for the Metropolitans.....IMO.....it sounds Metrosexual to me....no offense to anyone.

The "Kraken" will work fine with me.

Cool design......cool theme.

The Metropolitans refers to the 1916-17 Stanley Cup Champions Seattle Metropolitans. At the very least, I was hoping the franchise resurrect the Metropolitans name the way Ottawa brought back the old Senators name, but I guess the Kraken/Krackers/Krackheads suits them well. Oh well!!! Not my hockey team!

A talk on what the Kraken's identity will be (what kind of team they'll be) and who they may
pick up in the expansion.

I'm going in: I'm subscribing to NHL TV to watch an follow them.

The 'Seattle Mets' would sound lame as hell.
