And how many people that get covid end up in the hospital? And how many of those in the hospital have comorbidities? And how do those comordibities affect neurological functioning? Could those comorbidities cause people to go to the hospital when they also catch Covid? And what does the combination of covid and comorbidities do with neurological functioning?

Goodness...

Yep, all good questions for the scientists to investigate. It should be fascinating.

I'm concerned that this could create a false sense of security. People can still get covid. A few vaxxed people are even ending up in the hospital with it (nation-wide, low numbers, but still--clear cases).

I'm going to wear a mask when I come to visit, and NM is still under masking orders. Cases have been spiking in NM and CO throughout August. My doctor told me to continue masking, continue taking measures to boost my immune system, because the immunized can still get it, and now there's that new variant that sounds very serious. So I want to be cautious.

I heard on the news today that they are expecting the current Delta-variant spike to peak in early to mid September, although one modelling site thinks mid October. Both England and India were hard hit by the Delta variant but have passed their peak case loads, so that's some good news. Maybe by Halloween then it will be wrapping up? Crossing my fingers.

I hope so, too....

India under-reported and didn't have the means to record infections and deaths, IMO.

UK has a high rate of vaccination.

The Delta does move quickly and is a sprinter not a marathon runner.

Finger crossed, also.

Ruth,

Are you referring to Lambda, Epsilon or another new variant?

Nextstrain is tracking 3496 genomes. They might run out of Greek letters.

They are contemplating using the names of stellar constellations next. Are we ready for the Andromeda Strain?

The initial states to show-up with Delta, like Florida, have already peaked a week or so ago. So it shouldn't be too long. Hopefully.

Yeah, I hope you're right. They are still setting records.
