One large Maple tree across the street lost a huge 6"diameter 25' branch in the wind yesterday, but no car parked there so no damage. Other than that and one brief power blink, it's wasn't too bad so far.

I just spent the last 45 minutes or so unblocking the road from a fallen tree.
Got to meet some more of the neighbors.
Nice bunch of people.

No power for last four hours. No estimate of return. This will be a longer event for us. I’m expecting schools to be canceled tomorrow.

I did not prepare.

So much for Murphy, fsm. - Hunker down everyone! I won't say that it's still sunny and calm down here... Don't want to jinx it.

It hasn't even been windy. I guess some places are more prone to power outages. I can't remember the last time I lost power for more than 1 hour in 2 different places. But power lines are underground.

Eastside is notorious for outages. Our farm in East Renton Highlands went nearly four days in January. Happens at least a couple times a year.

We had a lot of wind earlier.

Tree fell on my house. Stuff happens, though it was rather dramatic. State Farm's been reasonably responsive, as are a couple tree removal firms. It stood (the maple) c. 85 years, it's time had come apparently. Rough calc indicates it weight 3-5K lbs. Hard to say how much of that is leaning on a structural beam at my house, it did come down with a bang.

Welcome to the PacNW and if one lives in a forest, there will be...trees. Blah.

We have a heavily wooded residential property in CA.
Lost 4 decent sized trees there this last 8 or so months.
One was a 65’ monster oak .
One landed on the power entrance (weather head) to the house and took out our power.
I think droughts wrecks havoc on trees.
We didn’t turn in any insurance claims because they are canceling people for anything in CA so we’re 15k out of pocket and the beauty of the monster oak.

Lost only one tree here (that I know of) near Sequim this year but my rhododendrons still aren’t doing well.
Hopefully they will bounce back.
I can’t even count the fallen tree branches we keep adding to the burn pile from the driveway.

Ah - we had a tree come down too, but only on a fence. We got off light. (~knock on wood)

Had another power out[r]age last night. My new battery backup got a field test... and passed.
