Today I went to safeway on 15th and 85th street in crown hill and the side of the store has homeless encampments. In the safeway parking lot there were people talking to themselves.

Then my girlfriend and I went to wendys in ballard and the side of wendys has several tents of homeless.

The in the wendys parking lot there was a person screaming and talking to himself.

Two days ago in broad daylight at the arco am pm gas station on northgate way and roosevelt way some crazy homeless guy ran after me and almost attacked me. Luckily enough I left arco without getting gas and slammed my car door and left before getting hurt.

Seattle is getting worse and not better.

They cleared the downtown Ballard, and the Commons and Library. So it is better there, even if worse elsewhere. It's Whack-a-Mole. Pound it down in one place and it pops up somewhere else.

Seattle needs to set up a free food, drug center, and homeless encampment in Cle Elum.

Nope. Like a teenager with a messy room, Seattle needs to clean up messes of it's own making.

We need more authorized tiny house villages, tent encampments, and RV/car parks with a full-range of services and resources. We can then crack down on the illegal campers, who, if they don't want to avail themselves of the available options, can go and pitch a tent in a greenbelt.

I'm with you on this, seems the only realistic option.
Provide opportunities, those that aren't willing to participate, out!

Vast majority of the drug addict vagrants camping in Seattle aren't from Seattle.

Agreed, but the homegrown ones outnumber the ones that came from Cle Elum, or Port Angeles, or whatever small town people want them shipped to. My comment was in reference to the fact that most of the vagrant population IS from elsewhere, but they are drawn to Seattle by the permissive attitudes, and the hands-off approach from city government that prioritizes vagrants camping in parks over citizens using the parks. Thats what needs to be fixed if there's any hope of cleaning things up. So yes, the city of Seattle needs to fix the mess they've allowed to take hold, not pawn it off on someone else.

Yes, there are different numbers but it does seem very clear that these folks bus over from all over the country. I met some from the Mid West, CA, ID. The word is out, Seattle is a good place for them. Seattle has the reputation, similar to San Francisco. They probably have some facebook group or reddit group where they share this information.

Everyone these days, everyone, is on the web and sharing.
