Oh man, this really hurts. Kidd Valley is our favorite Seattle burger joint. We were just at this location within the past week, too. We drive up from the Central District since the Capitol Hill location closed ages ago.

I can't say I'm surprised. The big issue with Kidd Valley's 25th Ave. NE location has been that there's inadequate parking, and lousy bus service along 25th, combined with its distance from the UW, made getting there a PITA for many. The store is just too small given the excellence of the offerings. Sic transit gloria bacon cheeseburgers.

I remember it was popular when I was a UW student, but due to its inconvenient location, we didn't get over there very often. For fast food burgers, they were quite good. Good shakes, too. Glad to see its other locations are holding up.

We sometimes stop at the one on Bothell Way in Kenmore, though a bit hard to get to. We will stop if hungry on the way back from Seattle and then will take Lake City Way instead of the bridge. You have to go past it and make a U-Turn. We miss the closer one that was in Bellevue, but it closed several years ago and now is a vegetarian Indian restaurant.

Living in the central city, I don't get to a Kidd Valley often. I go to the one on Aurora sometimes (because I'm nearby in Shoreline).

I like Kidd Valley but I think they need to grow with the region just a little bit. An urban location in Capitol Hill, or if they're skittish, in Upper Queen Anne, would really bring back K-V to the population here I think.

Alas, that's a half hour trip one-way, so not really worth it. But if I'm up in that area I might give it a try. Thanks.
